Bryan Willis · 2018–2022
The name the trophy carries.
Bryan attended every trip from its beginning through 2022. He competed hard, called things as he saw them, and never met a stranger. His sons Jake and Austin were part of the group with him, but his place in the trip extended far beyond family.
A concrete finisher by trade, Bryan inspired the Concrete Classic name after his brain-cancer diagnosis in November 2022. In 2023, the group wore Team Bryan wristbands and tribute shirts while hoping he would recover and return.
Jake won his first championship that year and shared it with his dad over FaceTime. He visited Bryan after returning home on Sunday. Bryan passed away the next day.
In 2024, Jake commissioned a deer trophy to honour Bryan’s love of hunting. Austin presented it to Jake as the reigning champion, in front of the friends who had shared those trips with their dad. By the end of the week, Austin had won it himself.
The trophy gave Bryan a permanent place in the championship tradition. Every name in this hall is part of the trip he helped build.
